Re-building the urban fabric: religions and positivity for the city
September 21st 2015, 8.45 pm
House of Dialogue, Via degli Olivetani 3, Milan
How do the different religious communities in Milan enhance the city?
Their stories are not always in the spotlight: these are stories of daily commitment that leads to the building of a network of aid and protection, which is essential for lots of weak people living in the suburbs, both geographic and existential. The Sri Lanka Buddhists commits in blood donation, the Jewish Lubavitch community prepares meals for the homeless, the Muslims pack up food for the troubled Italian families. All of these are stories of genuine dialogue that go beyond any manipulation, where compassion and solidarity, which are pivotal values in every religion, overtake preconceptions and build a fairer and more humane world.
